Part-Time – Independent Contractor
Location: Peterborough, ON

Mahoe Health is seeking a compassionate, Youth Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a 16-year-old female in Peterborough area. This opportunity is best suited for a self-directed professional with experience supporting youth with complex needs. Consist od life skills, community engagement, emotional regulation strategies etc.
Position Overview
Type: Part-Time Contract Position
Location: Peterborough, ON
Schedule: Flexible shifts within:
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Weekend Availability: Required (some weekends)
Compensation
Rate: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.50 per kilometer for approved travel
Programming Expenses: Reimbursed
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one community and home-based support
Assist with daily structure, routines, and engagement
Facilitate participation in recreational and community programming
Support clients with behavioral challenges, addictions, and mental health needs
Foster a safe, consistent, and supportive relationship
Maintain professional communication and documentation as required
Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking candidates with experience working with youth facing complex behavioural and mental health needs. Relevant backgrounds include:
Child and Youth Worker / Child and Youth Counsellor
Behaviour Therapy
Personal Support Worker (PSW)
Social Service Worker
Recreation / Parks and Recreation Worker
Or other field
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated experience supporting adolescents
Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
Police check
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required)
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
