Job Title – Production Assistant
Location – House of T.L Studio, 8819 Concession 2, Mount Albert, ON
Hourly Wage – $18/hr with potential to increase with experience
Hours per Week – Minimum of two 8 hour shifts per week with potential for more. Days will be set but are flexible as to which.

Overview
House of T.L is looking for a new production team member. If you are an organized, hard working individual then come work for us making a variety of handmade body care products. Duties
Production – Making a variety of body care products in a sterile production studio setting.
Following recipes with precision including measuring, mixing, pouring, lifting vessels.
Following all safety procedures and product making procedures to ensure consistency and quality control. Keeping work area clean throughout the process.
Bottling and labeling products – Pouring and measuring product into a variety of packages.
Handling lye – Using protective equipment you will work with lye crystals in the soap making process.
Cleaning – Dusting, vacuuming, mopping etc. all areas of the studio including washroom.
Physical Requirements
Heavy Lifting – small amounts of heavy lifting required including: moving 20kg pails across the floor, pouring liquids from one vessel to another, carrying materials and product up and down stairs.
Long Periods of Standing – most of your shift will be standing at work stations and moving around the studio.
Equipment use – will be trained in using hand mixers and larger industrial mixers (eg: auger type mixers for blending larger amounts of product).
Pouring using pitchers, funnels, ladles requiring lots of arm and shoulder movements.

 

Able to work standing for several hours.
Able to lift heavy objects up to 20kg, small distances (ie: lifting a pail onto a scale, sliding a pail across the floor, carrying 18L water jugs short distances)
Able to use Google Docs and messaging for scheduling and information purposes.
WHMIS training (will be provided by T.L to successful applicants).
Ability to do simple math such as percentages and fractions (as related to recipes).
