Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary/Medical Office Administrator to provide administrative support to our medical clinic located in the Durham Region area. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal,
organizational, communication, and computer skills, with expertise in Accuro EMR software and Microsoft suite of applications. The candidate should also have knowledge and experience in holistic and functional medicine. The candidate will
be responsible for answering phones, managing patient records, scheduling appointments, processing payment from patients, responding to other labs’, clinics, and patient’ requests, and supporting the medical team in the day-to-day operations. The position is an in-clinic position and requires the candidate to be able to work independently as well in a team environment. The candidate will also be required to work very closely with the Nurse Practitioner on duty and can be a bit of a self starter in the role.
Responsibilities:
Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation in Accuro EMR software.
 Manage and update incoming faxes to patient charts in the EMR
 Manage and schedule patient appointments and coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely and efficient patient care is provided.
 Handle patient inquiries and provide the required information in a professional and courteous manner.
 Perform administrative tasks, including managing office supplies, answering phones, managing emails, handle payments, billing, and other administrative tasks as needed.
 Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth operations of the clinic.
 Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all PHIPA & PIPEDA regulations and guidelines.
 Utilize knowledge and experience in holistic and traditional medicine to support the medical team and provide exceptional patient care.

Required skills:

Qualifications:
 College diploma or a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a
medical secretary/administrator in a medical office setting.
 Exceptional computer skills, particularly with Microsoft office application,
Windows OS and Accuro EMR software
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced
environment.
 Great attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is essential to the
candidate being successful.
 Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures preferred.
 Understanding how insurance or employment benefits work in Ontario
preferred.
 Knowledge and experience in holistic and functional medicine
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 Ability to work with other clinics to manage incoming referrals & inquiries.

Located in Brooklin

Requirements:
 Typing speed must be a minimum of 45 WPM.
 CPR certification is preferred.
 All immunizations to be up to date.
 Police Vulnerability check to be provided. Candidate will be compensated.
 Smoking is prohibited during the working hours.
