Position Overview
Are you confident in the water, safety-focussed, and passionate about teaching lifesaving and swimming skills? Fair Havens Camp & Conference Centre is seeking a dedicated, energetic, individual to join our summer team as a Lifeguard. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of campers and staff during all water-related activities and fostering a fun, enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities
Pool Safety: Provide active surveillance of pool and aquatic spaces.Deliver age-appropriate swim instruction and aquatic programming. Establish and enforce pool rules and emergency procedures. Respond effectively to aquatic emergencies and first aid situations. Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming pool environment.
Camper Engagement: Facilitate swim tests for new campers and lead or assist in water-based games and programs.
Facility Maintenance: Conduct daily safety checks of equipment and maintain the cleanliness of the beach/pool area and lifeguard shack.
Qualifications & Skills
Certifications: Current National Lifeguard (NL) certification, (Waterfront NL is an asset but not required), .
First Aid: Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED certification.
Swim Instructor certification Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
Age: Minimum 16 years of age (some positions may require 18+).
Attributes: Strong communication and leadership skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and a willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
