Job Purpose
The Fixtures Assembler is responsible for assembling parts and components to create complete fixtures based on technical drawings and specifications. This role ensures that all fixtures meet quality standards, functional requirements, and are completed in line with production schedules.
This position requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions. The assembler must work closely with team members to maintain workflow and adhere to safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities:
● Assemble metal, wood, and plastic components into final fixture products
● Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
● Test fixtures and tooling for manufacturing processes, collaborate with engineers and production teams; and ensures designs meet specifications
● Use hand tools and power tools to fasten, align, and secure components
● Inspect assemblies for accuracy, alignment, and quality
● Make adjustments or repairs as needed to ensure functionality and quality
● Follow standard operating procedures and assembly instructions
● Report damaged parts, faulty equipment, or quality concerns to supervisors
● Assemble, install various fixtures, which can include lighting, electrical components, switches, Car Operating Panels (COPs) within elevator that include selection buttons, door open/close buttons, and emergency controls
● Position indicators & Lanterns: Displays that show the car’s current floor and direction of travel, often with audible chimes
● Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move materials and parts throughout the manufacturing floor.
● Maintain a clean and organized work area
● Follow workplace safety regulations and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
● Support other production tasks as required
● Perform other related duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent
● 1+ year(s) of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing, including electrical
● Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions
● Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
● Understanding of quality control and safety procedures
● Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and warehouse equipment such as forklifts is a plus; forklift certification is desirable but not mandatory.
● Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work in a fast-paced environment.
● Previous experience with warehouse or factory environments involving assembly line work enhances your candidacy.

Working Conditions
● Full-time, onsite in shop; might be able to assist road crews if need
● Standard hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:00am to 5:00pm; Friday from 7:00am to 12:00pm; this is a 43-hour work week; overtime as needed and must be approved prior to the work being assigned
● Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
● Exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment
● Complete all required training such as WHMIS, Workers Health & Safety 4 steps; Workplace Violence & Harassment training and The Code + AODA
● Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: applicants are required to bring in their own safety footwear; the company will provide all the other PPE as needed
● Lift up to 70 lbs with proper technique; team lifts for heavy items
● Starting Wage: $23.00/hr
