CUSTODIAL & MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
FULL-TIME SALARIED POSITION
POSTED DECEMBER 15, 2025

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to the success and vitality of a local heritage arts facility from the inside. Working throughout the building and in the community, the successful candidate will manage and support all areas of facility custodial and maintenance needs. The Custodial & Maintenance Coordinator works most closely with the management team, but will collaborate with all other Capitol Theatre team members. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment, can work independently and in a collaborative team setting.

This position requires the candidate to work early mornings as well as some evenings and weekends to accommodate seasonal schedules.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Keeps the building and property in clean and orderly condition.
Completes daily/weekly/monthly cleaning duties (frequency depending on season), including garbage removal & recycling management, sweeping/mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and all other areas to ensure effective presentation for the public.
Performs routine maintenance activities, including lightbulb replacements, fire extinguisher checks and reporting, general repairs, etc.
Oversees of all facility systems, including security systems, HVAC, BAS, etc.
Manages inventory of cleaning supplies, in collaboration with Patron Services Manager.
Manages relationships with all vendors and suppliers related to facility maintenance.
Works alongside management to address the need for repairs or additions to the facility.
Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Some prior experience working in custodial, maintenance and/or facility management sectors.
Some prior experience working in the non-profit sector is recommended.
Prior experience working in an arts organization is an asset.

SKILLS
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
Communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work at particular heights, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
Collaboration and communication with all team members, volunteers, and artists on-site.
