Job Description:
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Bakery Assistant. We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Baker’s Assistant to support our Chief Baker in producing exceptional products and maintaining a smooth, efficient kitchen operation. The Bakery Assistant will play an integral role in creating delicious baked goods and contributing to a welcoming environment for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Baker with the preparation of ingredients and components for baked goods and other menu items.
Maintain freshness by practicing the FIFO (First In, First Out) method and ensuring proper storage of ingredients and finished products.
Bake menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Consistently display and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality, safety, and consistency.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace at all times to prevent contamination.
Wash and organize baking tools, utensils, and equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations.
Package baked goods, juices, and other products accurately and attractively for sale or pickup.
Support front desk staff by greeting customers, handling deliveries or pickups, and processing payments using the POS system.
Remove garbage and recycling as needed, ensuring proper waste management and cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
Perform any other duties assigned to support bakery operations.

Required skills:
Previous bakery or kitchen experience is an asset but not required (training provided).
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in product quality.
Organizational and time management skills to meet baking and production schedules.
Must have a Food Handler’s Permit or be willing to obtain one.
Punctual, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
