Job Description:
We are looking for an easygoing and active individual that can enrich the life of a 59-year-old male. The support worker will provide part time support to this man and aid him in exploring new opportunities in his Whitby/Oshawa community.
This position would be best suited for a support worker looking for reliable part-time work hours of approximately 15 hours per week. These hours will be from:
9:30 to 1 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Some of these may be negotiable.
In this role, you will support this man by engaging him in exercise such as walking in the community as well as a low impact exercising and swimming at the Whitby Recreation Centre to ensure he is staying active while being engaged in the community. He has limited sight & speech ability but understands and can communicate.
You will work within an ethical practice framework while embracing the principles of inclusion and strive to create an environment that encourages good community connection.
We would like to employ someone who enjoys fitness and can engage others socially.
If you believe you are a self-starter that is caring and enjoys connecting with people, this could be the role for you! You will work alongside him for up to 15 hours per week. Details of hours are seen in this ad.
Key Requirements:
• Completion of Vulnerable Sector Police check.
• This role will involve completing a daily communication log, as well as being aware of COVID safety regulations and avoiding unsafe situations for the virus at this time. Communication ability and awareness of COVID safety is a must.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle. The vehicle would need adequate trunk storage space for his walker.
• Personal Support Certificate.
• First Aid Certificate.

Hourly Pay:
