Job Description:
Seeking a caring support worker to assist a man mid-fifties with special needs in daily living and community involvement in Pickering. This man lives in his own co-op apartment, has a pleasant and easy-going manner and enjoys the outdoors.
This is a contract/self-employed position. The ideal candidate will be available Saturday 8 am to 10 PM. Overnight position also available Saturday 10 PM to Sunday 7:30 am continuing to Sunday 1 pm.
The successful candidate will be willing and able to provide support in all areas of daily living, including personal care, planning and preparation of nutritious meals, administering meds, general housekeeping and more.
Personal qualities … ability to be a team player and communicate with family and other support persons.
An understanding of the gifts and contributions of people with disabilities and a conviction that communities are better when all people are included.
Required
- Current vulnerable police check
Reliable vehicle - Valid driver’s license
- Cean driver’s abstract
- Willing to drive person short distances in Pickering and surrounding area
This is a self-employed position with a family.
