JOB DUTIES:
Providing comprehensive Speech Language Pathology services, including:
• formal and informal assessments
• direct treatment
• involvement in group-based programs
• supervision of Communicative Disorder Assistants
• consultation with parents and professionals

Being responsible for leadership duties, including:
• program and policy development
• managing and training staff
• participating in recruitment activities

TERMS:
• Permanent position
• 37.5 hours per week

Required skills:

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST SPECIFIC SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of two years experience working as a Speech Language Therapist with children and youth, with strong clinical experience in Autism, ADHD, speech sound disorders, language disorders and delays, and stuttering/stammering
• Formal training in the provision of Speech Language services with children who stutter
• Experience providing support within various environments, including in clinics and schools, as well as the provision of virtual-based services
• Experience providing consultation to parents/caregivers and other involved professionals
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience conducting and supervising individual and group therapy sessions

MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP SPECIFIC SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Leadership experience, including the provision of clinical supervision, managing other therapists/therapy assistants, participating in recruitment activities, and providing training to staff
• Experience with service, program, and policy development

EDUCATION:
• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or Speech and Language Sciences
• Undergraduate degree in Linguistics or a related field

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and delivering culturally competent services
• Member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), or eligible for registration
• Eligible for professional liability insurance
• Ability to provide a criminal record check

LANGUAGES:
• English is required
• To meet the diverse linguistic needs of the community, the ability to communicate with families in one or more additional languages is a strong asset (e.g. French, Urdu, Tamil, Tagalog, Italian, Spanish)
