Job Description:

The Nooks is currently hiring a Full Time Retail Sales and Customer Experience Representative at our new sip and shop destination in Port Hope.

The Nooks is the first Artisan Retail Business Incubator in Canada! Our unique retail model combines in store space, a ‘nook’, with an online marketplace for handmade businesses to grow a successful retail business! We give makers 100% of their sales in exchange for a monthly membership fee.

As a Guest Experience Representative you will be part of the team responsible for elevating and enhancing the shopping experience. We are looking for people who value what we value – customer experience and community connections. Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensure our customers and Nookie’s have a positive and lasting impression of their experience
Welcoming, engaging and connecting with our customers in-store and by phone
Learning about makers’ products and sharing your expertise with customers
Assisting customers locate and select products by making customer specific suggestions to encourage product purchases
Resolving issues effectively at store level in a timely and positive manner
Processing point of sale transactions quickly and accurately
Staying current, understanding and communicates The Nooks policies as well as the wide range of services and events offered
Ensuring the store is visually appealing and contributes to company standards through product presentation, replenishment, store housekeeping, store maintenance and visual displays
Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bottle shop and café patrons.
Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks.
Properly handle and maintain all equipment
Respond to food and beverage orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
Engaging with our social community through use of our company app
Daily cleaning duties
Complete End of Day Reports when closing
Protect the company’s assets and profits by ensuring loss prevention policies are adhered to and respected
Understand and follow health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws or regulations
Active participation in company development plans, training designations and learning programs mandatory
Additional tasks as assigned by management

Required skills:

Retail Sales Skills And Qualifications:

College diploma
Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
3+ year experience in sales, retail, or customer service environments
Smart Serve certified, or willing to become certified.
Available to work a variety of shifts includes days, evenings and weekends.
Available to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays per month for pop-up events
Advanced computer skills
