Job Description:

Responsible for food preparation, product selling and merchandising.
Responsible for customer service, maintenance of product quality, health food safety, shrinks, sanitation and store safety.
Responsible for completing all department operational forms. Refrigeration Log, Daily Production Logs, Daily Commissary Order form, Department Sweep Log, Food Temperature Log, Waste Tracking Form, Transfers, Monthly Maintenance forms, Par level checks etc.
Prepare foods according to expectations
Check best before dates
Test freshness of food
Prepare food based on customers’ demand
Careful handling of products
Correct pricing and signage
Monitor inventory turns and excess inventory
Shoplifting awareness (internal and external)
Follow company policies and guidelines at all times
Advise manager regarding inventory turns
Health Food Safety, Housekeeping and Sanitation
Follow food safety standards
Follow health and workplace safety standards
Clean equipment, counter and sanitize work area
Check temperature
Follow dress code policy
Sanitary, professional appearance is maintained
Production area is clean and organized at all times
Check temperatures 3 times daily (10am/2pm/6pm)
Ensure that there are enough supplies for the department

High School
Knowledge of food preparation
Good verbal communication skills
Strong organization and planning skills
Strong initiative ability, excellent work ethic and sense of urgency
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Flexibility – Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, as well as new and changing processes, programs and services
Strong customer service skills

Responsible for department set-up, product presentation and product image (product display, tare checks, cross merchandising, signage, rotation and removal of substandard products from showcase)
Ensure quality and freshness of products at all times
Company policies and procedures are followed at all times
Follow rotation policy – Old products on top/in front
Check dates. Move products before code expiry. Remove substandard products immediately
Follow Health Food Safety Guidelines at all times
Follow company sanitation guidelines at all timesProvide Customer Service
Take phone and in-store orders
