REPORTS TO: Summer Program Director / Assistant Director
WORK TIME:
• On-site staff training weekends (May 13, June 17-18)
• Variable part-time hours as needed throughout the summer season (July 4 – September 1)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Occasional Staff members are responsible for covering staff absences and vacancies. These staff members will work variable hours and may receive requests to assist in our different positions throughout the season. These team members will be responsible for supporting the delivery of program plans (which would be provided) and assist with the supervision of participants aged 5-16 years as required. This role may also include acting as a support person for an identified participant(s). This position provides Occasional Staff the flexibility of picking up shifts as they become available (e.g., staff appointments, religious holidays, summer exams, driving tests, illnesses, etc.) leading up to & throughout the summer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cooperate with other staff to conduct program activities within any assigned camper group.
2. Instruct participants in various outdoor skills as assigned (i.e., fire building, shelter building, orienteering, knot tying, 
archery).
3. Responsible for the safety and care of each camper assigned to a group at all times.
4. Write up and follow up on all incident reports required.
5. Assist in regular caretaking duties to maintain cleanliness of camp facilities as per the assigned staff member’s 
schedule.
6. Responsible for the general maintenance of camp equipment and supplies assigned to group throughout the day.
7. Operate our canteen independently (when required), counting money, taking inventory and tracking purchases 
throughout the shift.
8. Assist office staff with organizing early pick-ups for youth as required.
9. Other related duties as required.
