Job Description:

WESCAM’s Applied Physics Specialties (APS) division is a design and manufacturing company specializing in custom opto-mechanical lens assemblies and aspheric components. APS is located in Don Mills, Ontario.

Innovative and vertically integrated, APS offers a unique combination of optical and mechanical technologies that take ideas from concept to working prototypes. The design and fabrication, diamond turning, CNC generating, high-speed conventional and computer-controlled polishing, coating and assembly processes are performed to very strict tolerances and conform to ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities
•Assemble, repair, rework and/or troubleshoot complex electromechanical assemblies
•Maintenance of system file and tracking assembly documents
•Ensure all tasks are completed to customer’s required delivery date
•Generate Non-Conformance Reports

Qualifications
Desired Skills
•Strong Electronics and Mechanical background including assembly, tuning and troubleshooting Electronic/Mechanical devices
•Familiarity with reading and understanding technical drawings and schematics
•Thorough understanding of techniques in the use of hand tools, soldering, crimping and measurement equipment
•Excellent manual dexterity
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work within a team environment
•Able to work afternoon shift from 3pm-12:30am from Monday to Friday

Desired Experience and Education
•1 – 2+ years’ experience in the Mechanical and Electronics field
•Previous experience working in an ISO9000, AS9100 environment an asset
•Experience with Lean Manufacturing an asset
•Community College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical technology or equivalent experience
