Job Description:

Mobile Instrument Service & Repair (MISR) is currently seeking a Junior Repair Technician for immediate full-time employment in our Oshawa-based National Repair Centre.

This position reports directly to Master Repair Technician who will serve as a mentor during the apprentice phase. Career progress toward intermediate and senior repair technician status will be encouraged.

A Junior Repair Technician will have the following responsibilities:
• Work under direct supervision, with the ability to work independently once trained
• Receiving and decontamination of incoming surgical instruments
• Preparing instruments for the repair process, taping for color coding etc.
• Acid etching and other instrument marking
• Removal of insulation and or previous color coding
• Packaging and shipment of repaired instruments back to customers
• Refinishing of instruments, matte, satin, polished
• Bead Blasting
• General instrument minor repair
• Other various tasks as requested by the Master Repair Technician or General Manager
Suitable candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
• High school diploma
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Experience working with machinery; ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
