REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  1. GUIDING TRAIL RIDES:
  • You will gather, feed, groom and saddle horses daily
  • Guide guests – children, teens and adults on trail rides
  • Minimum age of 18 yr. to guide rides independently;
  • Must be fit and agile enough to respond to urgent situations quickly.
  • Ability to ride at least a total of 6 hr./day.
  • Give pre-ride instructions, assist guests on/off horses, and adjust tack properly.
  • Guiding from front/rear/side; ponying another horse; hand-led “pony” rides.
  • First aid/CPR certified; knowledge of emergency/evacuation procedures.
  • Safety conscious
  • Knowledge of the area, local history, general tourist info.
  • Must be able to demonstrate control and collection while on horseback.
  1. INSTRUCTOR: one to two days a week
  • Teach English horsemanship
  • Teach Western horsemanship
  • Our students range from as young as 7yr to mature adults. Beginner to intermediate levels
  • Assist small children on ponies and horses in age-appropriate horse activities
  • Teaching kids group lessons in camp with a riding and theory portion
  • candidates with teaching certification or proven horse training skills will be considered.
  1. STABLE MANAGEMENT:
  • Horse handling, roundup, groom/ saddle, feed/water, manure removal, sweeping stalls, basic care of horses, keep the yard clean, landscaping, operating tractor comfortably.
  • These duties include the ability to on a daily basis:
  • Lift 25 – 50 lb. saddles on/off horses and saddle racks.
  • Lift 40 – 50 lb. hay bales to waist level, or higher.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level to halter/bridle horses.
  1. OFFICE RELATED:
  • Answer phones; provide information about rides, schedule rides.
  • Guest sign-in, ensure accurate completion of release forms, take payment, and properly fit helmets.
  • Provide guests with general community/tourist info.
  1. PROFESSIONALISM:
  • Provide superb customer service; treat guests/clients with courtesy & respect.
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude even under adverse circumstances.
  • Maintain good working relations with landowners and other trail staff.
  • Strive for the highest level of guest satisfaction and enjoyment at all times
  1. TIME COMMITMENT: We are flexible in hiring 1 or 2 full-time people or multiple part-time. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, summer, and fall. We work all year round.
  • Weather permitting or customer discretion some shifts may be cancelled with a minimal amount of notice.

We are ideally hiring for 2 part-time staff but will consider hiring 1 person full time.

Salary: $15.50 to $20.00 /hour Plus Tips
