DINING ROOM SERVER (Part Time)– Douglas Crossing
Candidates are invited to apply for the PT Dining Room Server position at Douglas Crossing a retirement community, located in Uxbridge, Ontario. The Dining Room Server will foster a warm and friendly experience in our dining room using strong communication skills as they take orders and serve fresh, delicious meals to our residents

As a The Dining Room Sever your typical day will involve the following;

Responsible for Assisting Chef/Cook with food preparation as required.
Completing departmental cleaning and ware washing as required.
Clear tables, load, safely operate dishwasher and complete manual dish washing as required.
Serve food to residents observing special diet restrictions, resident preferences and outlined departmental procedures.
Ensure community is following Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Always Practicing safety procedures including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire safety procedures including extinguishers (as applicable), SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures.
Reports all accidents/incidents/unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
Ensuring infection control techniques are always being followed.
Must be knowledgeable in residence’s fire and emergency safety programs and participate in Fire Safety and Mock Disaster procedures.
Perform all other job duties as assigned
Refer and adhere to all policies and procedures as they are in effect.

Required skills:

Completion of a recognized Food Handler training program.
Experience working in the Food service industry and proven excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication in the English Language.
Ability to work both independently as well as a team member.
Familiar with HACCP, WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety, Sanitation Code.
Willingness and ability to learn.
Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors.
Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset.
