The Role
A local company is looking for a highly motivated, skilled Full time CNC Lathe Machinist/Specialist to join our machine shop CNC turning department to perform CNC machining of tight tolerance parts from aluminium, plastics, steel, and stainless steels using CNC Lathe. Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.


. CNC Machining (turning) of tight tolerance components on Elliot Matsuura and Miyano CNC lathes.
Daily Duties Include:
. Operating / Programming CNC Lathes
. In-process Part inspection
. Other duties as assigned
. Good housekeeping habits
. Follow Health/safety guidelines


. Machine Shop experience is required minimum of 3 -5 years
. Trade school certificate is an assetHigh School or College Education
. Set-up and run a 3 axis Lathe machines
. Ability to read mechanical part drawings.
. Able to identify cutting tools
. Knowledge of cutting speeds and feeds
. Familiar with various metals and plastics machining properties
. Comfortable machining to tight tolerances.
. Comfortable with imperial or metric dimensioning.
. Skilled with measuring tools.
. Experience with Fanuc CNC Controls.
. Ability to communicate clearly in English.
. Punctual
. Self-motivated
. Eager to learn
. Ability to understand and follow instructions
. Able to work within a team
. Ability to flourish with minimum guidance
. Able to shift work
